You have two choices for morning worship today.

You can join the Synod Service which this week will be a live broadcast starting at 10:30am from Livingston United Parish Church

Alternatively if you are not available at that time you can watch a pre-recorded service focusing on St Columba led by our Moderator, Rev David Pickering. This service was created for 9th June, St Columba Day but is suitable to watch any time in June. You can also join David in his weekly online Hebridean Pilgrimage.

We will meet this evening, online at 6:30pm via Zoom, as usual. If you don’t yet have the login details (for computer, smartphone or tablet) or the dial-in details (for using a phone) please contact Steve or Bungie.

Today’s morning service is led by Lesley Thomson who has been a student minister on placement with us. We wish her well in her ongoing studies. This morning, also starting at 11:00am, is a live service from the Scottish College marking the end of the academic year.

This evening, from 6:30pm-7:15pm, people from our group of four churches will gather as usual using Zoom for a short evening service and a chance to chat with one another.

If you would like to join but don’t have the login details please contact Bungie. You can join using a smart phone, tablet or computer or you can dial in on a phone for audio only.

Ready for the new ‘normal’

May 29th, 2020 · Comments Off on Ready for the new ‘normal’

An article in the Helensburgh Advertiser this week reports on how local ministers are responding to the restrictions and opportunities of the pandemic situation. Our own minister is included in this article and has highlighted the recent URC publication Ready for the new ‘normal’ which has been produced by our Synod Moderators to help churches prepare for the future.

Screen grab from the online Video Service for Easter Day

Our minister explains the way worship has moved to being an online experience for many and considers that in the future there will remain a place for such online gatherings even when we are able to resume meeting together in person.
